Company sets up dedicated AI division to drive enterprise-wide transformation and AI-native operations
Balance Hero, the operator of the financial platform True Balance, has appointed Debarya Dutta as Chief AI Officer (CAIO) and announced the launch of a dedicated AI division, marking a significant step in its transition toward becoming an AI-native financial platform.
Dutta, a Cambridge alumnus and former AI leader at Uber, will lead the company's enterprise-wide AI transformation, overseeing the integration of artificial intelligence across customer services and internal operations.
The move signals the rollout of Balance Hero's broader AI strategy, positioning AI not merely as a feature but as a core operating system across the organization. The company aims to shift toward a model where AI becomes central to decision-making across products and workflows.

Rather than being confined to isolated use cases, AI will be embedded into decision-making processes spanning credit, personalization, and real-time service delivery.
The company is also transitioning toward AI-native operating models, where human judgment and machine intelligence work in tandem. As part of this shift, Balance Hero has introduced "AI Adoption and Transformation" as a company-wide KPI, reinforcing its commitment to embedding AI into everyday workflows.
